Design Strategy

The goal of this venture was to achieve a product that met our four design goals listed below.

Informative

We wanted to create an environment where users could find all the information they required about specific medications.

Preventative

Users could potentially be taking other medications or have allergies. The goal is to alert the user about any possible conflicts between these factors.

Coherent

Considering the range of demographics that could use this application, we are striving to create an interface that is easily navigated and understood.

Convenient

Rather than users researching medications on their own, we wanted to allow the user to find everything they needed on Corpus, saving them time.

Preliminary research led to the basic navigation map for the mobile application.

Low Fidelity Wireframes

Using completed research as well as the user flow chart, base level wireframes were able to be created to demonstrate the base functionality of the application.

Product Constraints

After creating the navigation and preliminary planning for the application, there were two main obstacles we were faced with.

1. Non Legitimate Medication

With a high rate of off brand and suspicious medication being purchased, the issue of non legitimate medication exists. This can often happen when patients depend on third parties to find cheaper prices.

2. Alternate Solutions

Through research, it was found that many patients would enjoy not having to take medication if unnecessary. Users clearly would like to see alternatives to their medications if they exist.

Solutions

Taking the previous two obstacles into consideration, we created two simple adjustments to fix the existing issues.

1. Verification Process

To prevent unknown medicine from being used, the app will prompt verification following the scan of a medication. Medication will only be successfully added to the user's app if verified in the database. If verification fails, the user will be prompted to contact their doctor or pharmacist for more information.

2. Natural Alternatives

To help with any issues that have caused a prescription to be made, there are often natural alternative solutions. The application will give natural remedies or solutions for the issue that the patient has. However, this will not tell the user to stop taking the medication.

Minimum Viable Product

High fidelity mockups were created to display the essential functionality of the Corpus mobile application. The below screenshots demonstrate some of the screens of core function of Corpus.
